PHILADELPHIA -- The return of Michael Vick took a backseat. The Eagles' young offensive weapons took center stage Sunday.
Without Donovan McNabb (fractured rib) and Brian Westbrook (sprained ankle), the Eagles whipped the lowly Chiefs, 34-14, and ran up 420 yards of total offense.
Kevin Kolb has career day for Eagles.
Things have changed in Philadelphia.
McNabb and Westbrook remain the go-to guys, but the new-look Eagles have more versatility and more offensive talent than at any time during McNabb's 11-year career.
While Vick (7 yards rushing, 0-for-2 passing) had little impact, Sunday's stars were quarterback Kevin Kolb, wide receiver DeSean Jackson, tight end Brent Celek and running back LeSean McCoy. None have been with the team more than three seasons. But the Eagles have done something worth noting, becoming younger and less dependent on any one player.
