Fox Sports Arizona:
TEMPE, Ariz. Its a shame the Cardinals dont play the St. Louis Rams three times this season. Third-string quarterback Rich Bartel would love to make his first career start.
Like the homecoming opponent prep teams schedule to ensure a win, Arizona will likely use the Rams game this Sunday in St. Louis for the return of quarterback Kevin Kolb. Backup John Skelton also made his first start of the season against the Rams on Nov. 6 after Kolb was injured at Baltimore.
Kolb, who has missed the past three games with turf toe and a bone bruise on the outside of his foot, estimated that he took about 35 to 40 percent of the snaps in Wednesday's practice. If the foot responds well on Thursday and Friday, he's optimistic he'll play on Sunday.
"Physically, it was where I wanted it to be," Kolb said. "I jumped in even on some scout team stuff just to get the bullets flying around and get used to things moving a little faster.

Arizona quarterback Kevin Kolb went through a substantial practice for the first time since his injury three weeks ago and says he is optimistic he will be able to play Sunday
at St. Louis.
Despite his abysmal effort on Sunday, Arizona Cardinals quarterback John Skelton will remain the starter on Sunday if Kevin Kolb still can't play.
We handle the biggest injury news all day in the rumor mill. The rest goes right here, in America’s most popular injury segment that always listens to the National Anthem. 1. Kevin Kolb is officially questionable after being limited in practice all week with his toe injury. We won’t know his status until gametime, but…
Notes: There's still a slim chance Kevin Kolb could return as the Cardinals' starting quarterback Sunday, but judging from John Skelton's comments Friday, it seems much more likely Skelton will make his fourth consecutive start instead.
Arizona Cardinals quarterback John Skelton led his struggling club to its first win streak this season while filling in for an injured Kevin Kolb. A miserable performance from Skelton, however, helped bring that run to an end last week.
If Kolb is unavailable once again, Skelton will likely get the chance to bounce back while helping the Cardinals top the St. Louis Rams for the...
