Texans coach Gary Kubiak said Monday that T.J. Yates will continue as the team's starting quarterback, although the coach acknowledged that there is plenty of work to do on the offensive side of the ball if his team is to be playoff-ready. And Kubiak also expressed concern that, in back to back weeks, the defense has struggled in the fourth quarter.
"That's two weeks in a row that we played really good football for three quarters," said Kubiak. "In the fourth quarter there's been four drives over 75 yards. That's a little disturbing because we've been pretty consistent in what we're doing. The fourth quarter in general over the past two weeks has been a little disturbing."
In Week 15 against the Panthers the Texans' defense allowed Carolina to hold the ball for more than 11 minutes in the fourth period alone. Against the Colts Thursday night, the Colts had possession for nearly 8 minutes in the fourth quarter, including the game-winning drive.
