Losing a shoe while running is never fun. In Sunday's Keystone State battle between the Eagles and Steelers, the two Pennsylvania teams certainly got heated at various points during the game. While this may not be a hate-filled gesture, it did make some people go: huh? Pittsburgh's Antonio Brown caught a Ben Roethlisberger pass and showed some fancy footwork towards the endzone. Philly's Kurt Coleman had other ideas. Coleman ripped the right cleat off of Brown and slowed down his progress enough to prevent him from scoring. Follwing the play, adding insult to injury, Coleman flung the dislodged shoe from...

Kurt Coleman rips Antonio Brown’s shoe off and throws it (Video)

The NFL has implemented a number of new rules over the past several seasons, most of which attempt to place an emphasis on player safety. If you watched Sunday’s game between the Eagles and Steelers, you may have found yourself thinking the league has to create a rule about throwing an opponent’s shoe. That’s right, a shoe-throwing regulation. As you can see, Philadelphia...

Video: Who throws a shoe? Kurt Coleman does

The obvious response when you can’t stop a receiver from burning you, is to rip his shoe off when you tackle him and throw it off-the-field. That is what happened in Sunday’s Philadelphia Eagles/Pittsburgh Steelers game. After Antonio Brown was brought down following a 20-yard gain, Kurt Coleman decided to stop him before the next [...]

Steelers S Troy Polamalu aggravates calf injury

Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu left Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles in the first quarter after aggravating his strained right calf. Polamalu limped off the field following a fumble by Philadelphia quarterback Michael Vick. The team said Polamalu's return was questionable, but the 2010 NFL Defensive Player of the Year watched the entire second quarter...

I wouldn’t mind if this happened during the Eagles-Steelers game (VIDEO)

Ben Roethlisberger getting sucked into the ground? I don’t mind. If it were to happen, the Eagles would of course wind up safely where Hines Ward lands in the clip. A girl can dream. Want more Philly Sports Muse? You can find me on Twitter at @sports_muse and on Facebook.

Steelers edge Eagles on last-second field goal

PITTSBURGH -- At some point, the Philadelphia Eagles' high-wire act to start the season was going to come crashing down. It was only fitting that it came at the hands of another comeback artist. Ben Roethlisberger engineered a game-winning drive that ended with Shaun Suisham's 34-yard field goal as time expired, and the Steelers edged the Eagles 16-14 Sunday at Heinz Field...

Tough loss because of squandered opportunities to put it away early...Steelers 16, Eagles 14...

I know most pundits will be talking about the key fumbles committed by Michael Vick that took big points off the board...and yeah, maybe the Eagles should have proven they are better and tougher than the Steelers except for their failure to hold on to the ball in scoring situations. But my main criticism will be focused on the disconnect between the linebackers of the Eagles...

Eagles vs. Steelers Week 5 Preview: 5 Keys For a Philly Victory

The Philadelphia Eagles are taking their nice, shiny 3-1 record to Heinz Field where they’re sure to get a few ketchup stains on their uniforms.  The Steelers are a hard team to figure out right now, but I certainly think they are a better team than their 1-2 record would seem to indicate. For some reason, when I think of the Eagles facing the Steelers, I tend to think they...

Polamalu re-injures his right calf

The Steelers were excited to get back a pair of star defenders today against their in-state rival, the Philadelphia Eagles. James Harrison has looked like his old self, flying around the field. On the other hand, Troy Polamalu's day came to an abrupt end. Near the end of the first quarter, Polamalu re-aggravated his right calf on a play that Michael Vick fumbled the ball...

Wasted Opportunity for Vick and the Eagles

The most basic job of an NFL quarterback is to maintain possession of the football. This is something that Eagles QB Michael Vick has struggled mightily with early this season, and it certainly cost him in Philadelphia’s 16-14 loss to their in-state rival Pittsburgh Steelers this past Sunday. Although Vick isn’t the sole concern for [...] [[ This is a content summary only. Visit...

Lesson’s from Arizona learned the Eagles will prevail in Pittsburgh

Preparing for the Pittsburgh Steelers the Eagles have the ability and TAPE to be ready for the challenge. The Eagles have seen as recently as the Arizona game what waits for them in Pittsburgh. Ray Horton Arizona Defensive Coordinator a Steelers alum and Dick LeBeau graduate, ran a very similar defense to what the Eagles will see this week. Blitz’s, blitz’s and more blitz’s...

James Harrison: I let up on Michael Vick so I wouldn’t get fined

Pittsburgh Steelers Linebacker James Harrison said previous fines for hard hits changed the way he pursued Eagles quarterback Mike Vick on Sunday (Credit: AP Photo) Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison has led the league in helmet-to-helmet fines over the last couple years. After the first game of this year, Harrison said those fines have changed the way he plays. Apparently...

Steelers Find Running Success Up The Middle Against The Eagles

I talked all week about how I thought the Pittsburgh Steelers should have success running the ball up the middle against the Philadelphia Eagles and that is exactly where the running backs had their success Sunday in the 16-14 win at Heinz Field. The running game of course was sparked by the return of Rashard Mendenhall, who was seeing his first game action since tearing the ACL...
