Kyle Hamilton: Ravens 'starting to hit our stride' after third straight win

The Baltimore Ravens are showing why they should not be counted out in the AFC playoff race.

After losing four straight games, the Ravens have now won three straight coming out of their bye week and have pulled within a game of the Steelers in the AFC North race.

Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton addressed the turnaround after Baltimore's 27-19 victory over the Minnesota Vikings.

"I think we're starting to hit our stride," Hamilton said to Ryan Mink of Ravens.com. "It's not a surprise to us. I think we're playing to our potential now, and that has to be sustained."

The Ravens’ defense hasn't allowed 20 or more points during the winning streak. Entering Week 7, the Ravens had the worst defense in the league in points allowed per game (32.3), but jumped to 25th in points allowed (26.1 points) during this winning streak.

The Ravens needed to go through adversity to get back to being the Ravens

Starting the season at 1-5 (the first time since 2015), the Ravens seemed like they were going to miss the playoffs for the first time since 2021. Coming out of their bye week healthy on defense, the Ravens have flipped the script and realized that success in the past doesn't equate to future success in the NFL.

"Partially what got us to 1-5 was the fact we came into the season maybe thinking, 'We're the Baltimore Ravens, we're going to do this, we're going to do that, teams are just going to lay down and let us win games,'" safety Kyle Hamilton said to  Clifton Brown of Ravens.com. "That's not how it is in this league. We got punched in the mouth early in the season, but now I think we're responding well. We'll just have that scar tissue going forward."

In the next three weeks, the Ravens (4-5) will play three teams that have struggled to win this season: the Cleveland Browns (2-7), New York Jets (2-7) and Cincinnati Bengals (3-6) on Thanksgiving Night before a meeting with the Steelers.

The Steelers, meanwhile, have a tough go before meeting the Ravens, playing the Bengals, Chicago Bears (6-3) and Buffalo Bills (6-3) before heading to Baltimore to take on the Ravens.
