Kyler Murray responds to NFL QB rankings labeling him among worst in league

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray simply can't help but laugh off the criticism and overall disrespect he's received in recent months. But even while there have been plenty of people questioning Murray for numerous reasons, the latest occurrence may be among the most disrespectful out there.

It seems CBS Sports has put out their 2023 NFL quarterback tiers, breaking down each player between tiers one to seven. While names like Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow and Josh Allen make up the top tier (correctly), you have to look way down the chart to see where Murray comes in, but you can spot him in tier six.

As seen below, he's right next to two quarterbacks who have barely seen any regular-season action in the Washington Commanders' Sam Howell and Green Bay Packers' Jordan Love, as well as Baker Mayfield, who is hoping to win the starting job for the Buccaneers and second-year Falcons signal-caller Desmond Ridder.

This ranking was obviously too much for even Murray himself not to respond to, as he posted a few laughing emojis followed by stating, "I love it."

Murray played just 11 games last season due to injury, but over that span he still threw for 2,368 yards with 14 touchdowns and seven interceptions while tacking on 418 rushing yards and three touchdowns. In total over the span of his four-year NFL career, the Cardinals quarterback has completed 66.8 percent of his passes in 57 games while throwing for 13,848 yards, 84 touchdowns and 41 interceptions. Over that same span, he has rushed for 2,204 yards with 23 additional scores.

While it's fair to dock him points for a 25-31-1 overall record, placing him in the second-to-last tier of all NFL quarterbacks is more than a little outrageous. Realistically, an argument could be made for Murray to land somewhere between tiers three and four, or possibly five, if you weigh his overall record at an extreme.
