Found January 01, 2014 on Pro Football Zone:
According to Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic,  Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald isn’t open to restructuring his contract even though he’s expected to make $12.75 million in 2014, which will eat up a nice chunk of Arizona’s cap room. The Cardinals haven’t approached Fitzgerald’s agent, Eugene Parker, about restructuring the contract, but they will. Negotiations will be interesting because Fitzgerald isn’t going to take a pay cut. He will be open to a restructuring that might include converting salary into a bonus that can be prorated over the next few years. Something has to give, because if Fitzgerald’s cap number doesn’t decrease, the Cardinals will be handicapped when it comes to extending other deals and signing free agents. It sounds like the Cards will have to either restructure Fitzgerald’s contract or release him.  If they do dump him,  they’ll still take a cap hit.     Need NFL Tickets? Loading... • The AZ Cardinals are so CHEAP no wonder they suck and if Fitzgerald leaves that is the team!
  • ..And why should he? He stayed when he could easily have demanded a trade. His career stagnated while waiting for the management to get its act together. He is a premier receiver in the NFL. He prepares himself during the off-season indicating his professionalism.
On the other hand, if restructuring his contract would bring quality players to the team, he might see the common sense in that.
  • Let him go while he still has trade value. Trade for Minnesota's draft pick and draft a good YOUNG quarterback to compete in the NFC West. Keep that defense together and keep Todd Bowles. Michael Floyd 's stock is rising after this season.

NFL Rumors: Arizona Cardinals to trade WR Larry Fitzgerald in the offseason?

The Cardinals first offseason priority is…

The Arizona Cardinals finished the season at 10-6, better than just about anybody predicted coming into the season. It was still a disappointment for those within the Cardinals organization. Their record should have been good enough to make the postseason. Their play within the brutal NFC west means they were definitely good enough to be a playoff team. With all of that said, the...
