Back in March, when the Redskins signed Larry Johnson, Chris wrote this:
The Redskins seem to be seriously interested in signing Larry Johnson, otherwise known as the Shaun Alexander Experiment 2.0. What a 31-year-old-to-be running back would bring to an already aging Skins backfield, I’m not sure.
Well, now we know: LJ brought exactly what Alexander did, which is nothing:
Larry Johnson in 2010: 5 carries, 2 yards, 0 touchdowns Shaun Alexander in 2008: 11 carries, 24 yards, 0 touchdowns
Getting LJ certainly seemed like a Cerrato-esque move to begin with, but Shanahan-Allen mostly got a pass, until now. Good thing is they’ve brought in a youngster, Chad Simpson, who might be able to do a couple of things, including play special teams, and may even be a part of the future.
Or maybe they’ll just cut him and sign Jamal Lewis to take the baton.
