Spencer Larsen’s season is over for the Broncos.

The team placed the fourth-year fullback on injured reserve today, less than two weeks after Larsen sprained his knee in the regular-season finale against Kansas City. Larsen did not practice or play last week.

The Broncos filled Larsen’s roster spot by promoting wide receiver D’Andre Goodwin from the practice squad. Goodwin was a logical replacement considering the knee injury to starting receiver Eric Decker. The Broncos have not ruled Decker out of Saturday’s divisional playoff game against New England, but with his situation tenuous, the team can certainly use the help at receiver.

The Broncos had only three receivers left after Decker was injured on a low hit from James Harrison in the first quarter of Sunday’s game against Pittsburgh.

Goodwin is a rookie from the University of Washington. He signed as an undrafted free agent in the preseason and has been on the practice squad for most of the season.
