Bengals haven't figured who they are on offense

Bengals coordinator Jay Gruden says his offense still hasn't developed an identity. Cincinnati can do a lot more this season with rookie tight end Tyler Eifert and running back Giovani Bernard as options, but it hasn't blended together smoothly. Cincinnati failed to score a touchdown during a 17-6 loss in Cleveland on Sunday. Left tackle Andrew Whitworth agrees that the...

NFL teams splitting the role at running back

When the Bengals need a yard, they give the ball to BenJarvus Green-Ellis and let him plow straight ahead. Want a big play? In comes rookie Giovani Bernard to catch a pass or make a cutback that turns into something special. And Cincinnati is far from alone in splitting the role of running back. Half of the teams in the NFL are using more than one running back regularly to carry...

Questions about Andy Dalton in Cincy

Andy Dalton is a pretty good quarterback. The question is whether he can ever be any better than that and actually lead the Cincinnati Bengals to a playoff win, let alone the Super Bowl. With his lame performance against the Cleveland Browns this past Sunday, questions are starting to emerge around the league and in Cincinnati as to Dalton’s ceiling as a quarterback. Dalton has...

Cincinnati Bengals: 2013 Week 5 NFL Power Rankings (#12)

Last week: 7 (-5) Record: 2-2 I thought the Bengals had finally broken through and gotten their signature win, beating the Packers despite losing the turnover battle, after going 1-11 against playoff teams in 2011 and 2012. However, last week they lose convincingly to the Browns. It’s possible that the Bengals were just flat off of a huge loss and/or caught looking forward to another...
