Ravens Insider:
Signed by the Ravens on Aug. 8 as an insurance policy with tight end Ed Dickson dealing with a pulled hamstring, Kris Wilson took part in just two days of practice before the team’s preseason opener against the Philadelphia Eagles last Thursday night.
But that didn’t prevent the eighth-year veteran from tying rookie wide receivers LaQuan Williams and Tandon Doss with three catches each, and ranking third on the team with 29 yards against the Eagles.
“I feel good,” Wilson, who turns 30 on Monday, said after Tuesday’s practice at the team’s training facility in Owings Mills. “I feel comfortable with the offense. This is an offense that I’m familiar with, an offense that I’ve run and been involved in throughout my career. So I come in feeling comfortable.”
All three of Wilson’s receptions were long enough to gain first downs, and he appeared to be a quality option for rookie quarterback Tyrod Taylor, who did a lot of scrambling behind a young and untested offensive line.
