// > These are the most up-to-date mock draft results from a fantasy football mock draft that I participated in on June 22nd, 2012.  Players are starting to even out in their ranks as we gear up for fantasy football, and it is interesting to note the early risers like Trent Richardson of the Cleveland Browns, and the guys whose value is dropping like Michael Vick (Who I was able to pick up in the 3rd round) For this mock I had the 6th overall pick, and if you end up with the 6th pick in your fantasy football drafts, this will give you some idea of who you will be targeting on draft day. I like to stick with the same general system when it comes to standard fantasy scoring.  My first 2 picks will almost always be RB’s, unless all the good ones are gone.  Then I go for the elite QB, and start filling in WR and backup RB.  My TE pick will come right around the 6th-8th rounds depending on how the draft is shaping up.  No matter how good Rob Gronkowski is, there is no value in landing him in the 2nd or even 3rd round. Remember, week to week it is about accumulating the most points, not having the best TE or K, so you should always draft whichever player is projected to score you the most fantasy points. My Team (6th pick) POS Player Bye Team Round QB Michael Vick 7 PHI R3 P6 QB Kevin Kolb 10 ARI R9 P6 RB Chris Johnson 11 TEN R1 P6 RB Frank Gore 9 SF R2 P7 RB Rashard Mendenhall 4 PIT R7 P6 RB LeGarrette Blount 5 TB R10 P7 RB Peyton Hillis 6 KC R11 P6 RB Jacquizz Rodgers 7 ATL R12 P7 WR Wes Welker 9 NE R4 P7 WR Mike Wallace 4 PIT R5 P6 WR Eric Decker 7 DEN R8 P7 WR Titus Young 5 DET R13 P6 TE Aaron Hernandez 9 NE R6 P7 K Shayne Graham 8 HOU R14 P7 DEF Philadelphia Eagles 7 PHI R15 P6 To see the complete mock draft results please click here A couple notes about this draft. 1) Chris Johnson fell to #6 in this mock, and should still have great value as a solid RB in all formats 2) Michael Vick was a consensus first round draft pick in 2011, has been falling to the 4th or 5th round in some mocks.  I  picked him up in the 3rd because I didn’t want to miss my chance.  Just make sure you have a serviceable backup in case he goes down to injury.  In 1 QB leagues that shouldn’t be a problem. 3) Aaron Hernandez should be ready for a breakout season, as Tom Brady likes to spread the ball around and defenses will be looking to stop Gronk this year.  I’ll take him in the 6th round of any draft. 4) My backup RB situation is interesting, as both Peyton Hillis and LeGarrette Blount were top 15 RB selections last year.  After their fall from grace it is obvious why they have fallen so far in mock drafts, but Doug Martin is no guarantee to stick in Tampa, so Blount could still get plenty of touches.  If Jamaal Charles goes down to injury again in KC, up steps Hillis and I would be the one to benefit.
