Lauren Tannehill, the wife of Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill, left quite the surprise in the back seat of a rental car earlier this month: an AR-15 rifle, the Sun-Sentinel is reporting. The rifle, valued at $2,000 and still in its case, was discovered in the Nissan Rogue when it was rented to another person hours later on Jan. 4, according to a Broward Sheriff’s Office report the Sun-Sentinel obtained. The next person who rented the vehicle, Judith Fleissig, 58, of Rochester, N.Y., discovered the rifle and turned it over to the police after contacting the rental car company. “Though dangerous if it would have landed in the wrong hands, it’s not criminal,” sheriff’s spokeswoman Keyla Concepción said. According to the report, the rifle is registered in Ryan’s name and the couple “immediately” called the rental car company to let them know they left something in the vehicle, but they would not specify what was left behind. Ryan and Lauren Tannehill view this as a “personal matter,” a Dolphins spokesperson said Wednesday. Photo via Twitter/@si_vaultFiled under: Headlines, NESN Staff, NFL
