Lots of quotes came out of Dallas Cowboys practice in the last 24 hours, including two notable former Browns. Let’s start with the fullback. Lawrence Vickers, a 2006 6th-round pick by the Browns, left as a free agent following the 2010 season. Here were his comments on facing his former team, as reported by ESPNDallas.com: “It’s personal, why wouldn’t it be? It anybody tells you it ain’t never personal when they playing their old team they’re lying to you. It’s always personal. They just keep it quiet. Of course it’s personal. It’s not like, oh, I just got to get them or nothing like that. But I’m going to take it personal because I’m playing against my old teammates and my old organization, and I want to win.” Then, of course, there’s the always-out-spoken Rob Ryan, brother of New York Jets coach Rex Ryan. Now the Cowboys defensive coordinator, Rob was in Cleveland with the same position from 2009-2010. Here were his comments as reported by ESPNDallas.com when asked if his bitter

Debate: Rex Ryan as Patriots Defensive Coordinator in 2013?

It seems impossible, but for the sake of fun, let's not rule it out. Would you want Rex Ryan to come to New England to coach the much maligned Patriots defense? Would Rex want to do that? Would Belichick?  These are the questions we at PatriotsLife had some varying opinions on. Here's a recap of our e-mail debate. Be sure to chime in with your thoughts in the comments section...

Cowboys' Rob Ryan ready for Cleveland reunion

Dallas defensive coordinator Rob Ryan doesn't pretend to ignore that the Cowboys are playing Cleveland for the first since the Browns dumped him when they fired Eric Mangini two years ago. Even when he's pretending. ''Honestly, I'm going to say no,'' Ryan said when asked if he had discussed this week's personal motivation with his players. '...

Rob Ryan ready for Cleveland reunion

IRVING, Texas (AP) -- Dallas defensive coordinator Rob Ryan doesn't pretend to ignore that the Cowboys are playing Cleveland for the first since the Browns dumped him when they fired Eric Mangini two years ago. Even when he's pretending. "Honestly, I'm going to say no," Ryan said when asked if he had discussed this week's personal motivation with his players...

Time for Rex to admit Sanchez is not his ‘guy’

I am pretty sure I lost a bet earlier this season when I predicted Mark Sanchez would be benched by Week 10. At the start of the 2012 season, things were looking okay for the Jets. All they really needed to focus on is getting through a tough first half, fix mistakes during the bye, and storm through a much easier second-half schedule. But, the Jets did not do what they needed to...

Rex Ryan Defends Jets Beleaguered Offensive Coordinator Tony Sparano

Despite the Jets offense being ranked 30th in the NFL, coach Rex Ryan and offensive coordinator Tony Sparano both said they see signs of improvement. The Jets failed to score an offensive touchdown in Seattle last week and have scored six touchdowns total in seven of their nine games. Even with those struggles, Ryan said he is happy with the job Sparano has done in his first season...

New York Jets: Week 11 NFL Power Rankings (#27)

Last week: 27 (-2) Record: 3-6 I’ve been wondering for a few weeks, at least, why Rex Ryan hadn’t benched Mark Sanchez for Tim Tebow. It didn’t make any sense to me why (assuming he had brought Tebow in to be an alternative to Mark Sanchez) he hadn’t swapped out Sanchez, who is completing 52% of his passes for a 3-6 team, for his alternative. Well, he answered that question...

Cowboys FB Lawrence Vickers Says Only Way He's Out Vs Browns Is If He's Dead

Sunday’s game against the Browns is personal for Cowboys fullback Lawrence Vickers after spending his first five years with Clevland. “It’s personal for me because I was there, I know these guys, I know this organization,” Vickers said Thursday. “I was there and when you’ve put in five years of your life and you put all you put into it, it’s going to be personal to you....

Cowboys C Ryan Cook Not Seen Practicing For Second Consecutive Day

Center Ryan Cook, who has a sore knee, was not seen participating in practice for the second consecutive day. Cook, fullback Lawrence Vickers (knee), defensive lineman Sean Lissemore (ankle) and safety Matt Johnson (hamstring) and center Phil Costa (ankle) weren’t spotted on the field Thursday. Cornerback Mike Jenkins (back) was present but when the defensive backs began to...

Turn On The Jets Week 11 Roundtable – Jets vs. Rams Predictions

Joe Caporoso - 12 Pack  Chris Gross -  Jets 23-Rams 17: Can New York turn a week of internal turmoil into enough motivation to grab a road victory in a must win situation? At what point does this team develop a chip on their shoulders for all the doubters and perceived negativity they are subject to, week in and week out? If I am Rex Ryan, my pregame speech is similar to Lou...

The circus arrives when the Rams face the Jets

ST. LOUIS - Cue the calliope. You thought last weeks tie was a circus? Well, the show must roll on, because the New York Jets land in our fair city with the largest red noses in the NFL. Where to start with the gang thats always green with envy? Theres the 3-6 record, good for last place in the AFC East. There are the three consecutive losses, including a combined 58-16 spanking...

Week 11 AFC East game picks: Jets at Rams

Lead writer Nick St. Denis and AFC East Daily contributors Dan Begnoche and Sean Donovan pick the New York Jets' inter-conference contest with the St. Louis Rams. Nick's take: When Jets coach Rex Ryan and Rams offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer shared the field during Schotty's time with the Jets, Rex's defense ran the show. I think that holds true when the...
