The Dallas Cowboys placed linebacker Bruce Carter on injured reserve, ESPN Dallas reported Monday. Carter dislocated his left elbow during Thursday's game against the Washington Redskins. He will have surgery this week and miss the rest of the season. Dallas signed Brady Poppinga, who worked out for the team in late October. At the time, the Cowboys ended up signing Ernie Sims, who could start in place of Carter. Poppinga, who has been in the league for eight years, started 12 games for the St. Louis Rams last year. He played six years with the Green Bay Packers. The Cowboys are without two of their top tacklers, as linebacker Sean Lee was put on injured reserve a month ago with a toe injury. Carter is the fourth Cowboys defensive starter this year on injured reserve.

Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray has not played since Week 6. According to head coach Jason Garrett, the running back is still working on being able to push off with his sprained left foot.

Because online petitions always get results, a Cowboys fan has started one on the official website of White House to ask President Obama to remove Jerry Jones as general manager and owner of the Dallas Cowboys. Totally the kind of thing the founders envisioned the executive branch doing.
It reads: “We, the Citizens of the Great State of Texas, and Dallas Cowboys fans worldwide...

When something happens once, it can be seen as creative or entertaining. When it happens again, it is far less humorous. That is the case when a Dallas Cowboys fan from the state of Georgia started a petition to President Obama to force change of their favorite team. It has also happened with the Auburn Tigers when some fans asked Obama to fire Gene Chizik.
They got their wish, although...
