LB Curtis Bolton Feels at Home With the Raiders
USA TODAY Sports

Las Vegas Raiders linebacker Curtis Bolton is entering his second season with the club, and so far, it's everything he hoped it could be.

Bolton, like some other Raiders on the team, grew up a fan of the franchise and is now living out his dream.

"Yeah, I mean it's felt like home all my life," Bolton told the media on Tuesday. " ... My pops was from Vallejo. So, come Week 6 if I'm still here, it'll be my longest tenured team, and regardless, they have a different kind of culture here. It feels like family regardless, so I'm just grateful for the opportunity to come play for here, and to get here and to find out how they operate is a dream come true. I have nothing but gratitude."

Bolton said his favorite player growing up was the great Charles Woodson.

"It's just nice to be able to put on the same uniform he [Woodson] put on and try to come bring that same intensity," the 27-year-old linebacker said. "I'm not the player he is, but I try to be."

As a member of the organization, Bolton has the honor of seeing some of the franchise's legends every now and then, including Woodson who he said he sees occasionally in passing.

"[I] think it's surreal," Bolton said. "I think we have a lot of Hall of Fame guys come through. A lot of Raider legends, greats come through, heard them talk at dinner. It's a dream come true, and I don't have too many other words for that."

Bolton also has many Raider fans in his family that get to not only celebrate the team, but him as well.

"It's nice to see them wear my jersey and it's not just a custom one," he said. "They go get it off the store, it's a real one."

Bolton entered the league in 2019 as an undrafted free agent out of Oklahoma.

The Silver and Black return to preseason action when they play the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 26, at 8 p.m. EDT/5 p.m. PDT.
