Lenny Kravitz is one of the most influential musicians of the current generation, selling more than 35 million records worldwide and winning several Grammy awards during his 20-plus years in the music business.
He’s also a native of New York and, like many other celebrities, a lifelong Jets fan. As such, the 48-year-old has teamed up with (the unlikely combination of) quarterback Mark Sanchez and Pepsi to release “Like a Jet,” dubbed a “perfect larger-than-life rock anthem, fitting for the endless determination that rings through the one, the only, Jets Nation.”
Here is the song:
Upon first listen, the track has a nice toe-tapping feel to it, but the lyrics sound forced and, quite honestly, a ploy for promotion. Then again, I’m no music major or Kravitz aficionado.
Perhaps it was kinder on your ears?

How there hasn’t been more of a run on Tim Tebow Halloween costumes is crazy. You would think Tebow bros everywhere would be all over this costume. It’s simple, relatively cheap and allows them to pay homage to their godly hero. There are a few we could scrounge up but this post is a call to action more than anything. When you’re out at Halloween parties or bars and you see...
Many New York Jets fans expected starting quarterback Mark Sanchez to show off his arm today against the New England Patriots.
However instead of his arm, it appears that Mark got to show off his kicking ability instead and as you might figure, it wasn't a good thing.
During the second quarter of play, Mark lost control of a hand-off to Shonn Greene and had to kick the...
When Darrelle Revis went down for the season.. fine I'll admit it. I was so excited. Listen, I never root for injuries, but when one as significant as that happens, to the team I hate the most? Yeah, I was excited! However, it hasn't really had the kind of impact I was hoping for. Have the Jets gone in the tubes? Not really, not yet anyway. If the Patriots beat them this...
Thanks to our friends at Cosby Swaeters we have this funny video of Jim Nantz of CBS Sports thinking the Jets beat the Patriots today, even though it was the other way around.
As quarterbacks, you could probably count the similarities between Tim Tebow and Tom Brady on one hand. One thing the players do share is that they both played under Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels.
That's why New York Jets coach Rex Ryan had Tebow mimicking Brady in the Jets' practice week leading up to Sunday's matchup against the Patriots.
Following in the footsteps of Robert Griffin III (RG3™), Tim Tebow has legally protected his own self-interests.
According to ESPNNewYork.com, the Jets’ backup quarterback officially trademarked ‘Tebowing’ — his globally-renowned (and oft-mocked) endzone celebration in which he assumes a prayer-like pose.
Tebow filed the necessary paperwork back in April, and finally acquired...
Jim Nantz had a "senior moment" in the booth in the waning moments of the Patriots win over the Jets.
CBS's lead play-by-play man was convinced that the Jets had beat the Patriots on Sunday night after Rob Ninkovich strip sacked Mark Sanchez to clinch the game for New England.
The usually flawless Nantz declared that it was a "stunner" and...
CBS announcer Jim Nantz loves to script his endings, and in this case, it looks like the practice backfired on him.
Nantz completely butchered his call for the ending of the New England Patriots-New York Jets game on Sunday, saying not once, but twice that the Jets had won. The Jets, in fact, lost 29-26 in overtime when Mark Sanchez lost a fumble following a Patriots field goal...
A week ago, no one would have thought that Week 7's Pats/Jets match-up would feature teams with identical records. With a four-way tie for 1st place in the AFC East, how big is today's game and how do you see it playing out?
Raj: I believe this is a must-win for New England unless they wanna grab the either two wild card spots and be content with playing on...
1. Contain Rob Gronkowski
- Gronkowski absolutely murdered the Jets last year, highlighted by his posting eight catches for 113 yards and two scores in their second meeting, a 37-16 Patriots blowout victory. If the Jets want to win, they’re going to have to find a way to contain Gronk. That probably means a heavy dose of LaRon Landry and Antonio Allen covering Gronkowski, if the...
Jets talk to NFL about Pats' offenseThe New York Jets, concerned about their ability to substitute between plays when the New England Patriots shift into their up-tempo offense, reached out to the NFL to make sure the game officials properly enforce the substitution rules."We have already talked to the league office and Rex (Ryan) will be in the ref's ear about this...
Six weeks into the NFL season, and we still don't know who's truly among the league's best.
It would appear that oddsmakers are still a little unsure, too, given Week 7's lines. One thing we do know for sure, though. The Patriots are expected to stop screwing around and take it to the Jets this week in a big AFC East matchup.
Here are this week...
Week 6 Record: 2-1 (Respectable!)
Season Record: 7-10-1 (Getting there!)
Underdogs are killing it in the NFL this season. It started early and most chalked it up to the usual early-season parity and also those weirdos who were pretending to be refs. But funny thing is that it’s kept up. Last week, underdogs were 12-2. The only two favorites that covered? Your New York Football...
