Chicago Bears safety Chris Harris is never at a loss for words. Yesterday on Twitter in an exchange with NFL expert and former DePaul Blue Demon Matt Bowen, Harris expressed his frustration with accountability being inconsistent within the Chicago Bears. Other have suggested that defensive players feel that head coach Lovie Smith holds his defensive players to a higher standard than offensive players. If you look through the history of Smith’s tenure, this isn’t exactly true. While Smith does seem to have more accountability issues with his defensive players, he’s given some guys free passes over the years on both sides of the ball. Two names that come to mind are Tommie Harris and Rex Grossman. Harris played defensive tackle and was a stud for his first few years in the league. After injuring his leg in 2006, he was never the same player. This included causing problems on and off the field. Smith gave him many chances leading up to last season when he was inactive...
