Le'Veon Bell made it clear this week that he is growing weary of the time it is taking to hammer out a deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers. It is obvious Bell, an impending free agent should things not work out between himself and the Steelers, does not want the process to drag out any longer.

“I just wanna get a deal done. I’m tired of having to deal with this every year,” Bell told TMZ Sports at an EA Sports’ pre-Super Bowl party in Minneapolis.

Bell has made it clear in recent weeks he hopes to remain with the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, there is one caveat: It has to include a long-term deal. The Steelers running back has threatened to hold out or retire should the Steelers use the franchise tag on him again.

Bell earned $12.12 million last season after being tagged by Pittsburgh and stands to earn $14.54 million for the 2018 season if the team does so again. Given Bell’s threats, that’s unlikely to happen, although the Steelers conceivably could call his bluff.

That said, all signs point to the two parties working out a long-term contract before free agency begins in mid-March. If that’s not the case? Bell already has made it clear there is one team he has no plans on joining.

Below is video of Bell discussing the contract situation with TMZ Sports. The Steelers running back also addresses how teammate Ryan Shazier recently made a significant, not to mention inspirational, step in his recovery after suffering a horrific spinal injury this past season.
