Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis returned to practice Wednesday for the first time since he tore his triceps nearly two months ago. Lewis was placed on injured reserve with the designated-to-return tag after he suffered the injury -- which required surgery -- against the Dallas Cowboys on Oct. 14. He won't be eligible to return until the Ravens face the Denver Broncos on Dec. 16. "I'm making progress and will practice some today," Lewis said in a statement. "But, the story shouldn't be about me right now. We're playing the Redskins Sunday, and I am not eligible to play. If I can help prepare my team in some way for that game, I will. When I know I will play in a game, or when I play in game, I will say more then." Ravens coach John Harbaugh said in his news conference on Wednesday that he didn't know if Lewis was game-ready yet. Lewis, a seven-time first-team All-Pro, is part of a Ravens defense hit hard by injuries. Already without cornerbacks Chris Johnson (hamstring) and Jimmy Smith (groin surgery), the Ravens were minus linebacker Dannell Ellerbe (ankle) in Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Linebacker Terrell Suggs also injured his biceps during that contest. Harbaugh told reporters on Wednesday that Suggs had a "very serious strain." Like Ellerbe, Suggs could be another game-time decision as the Ravens travel to play the Redskins on Sunday.

Ray Lewis unveils new facemask as he returns to practice

As if anyone needed a reason to be more afraid of Ray Lewis when he was on the field.  Lewis pulled a page out of Justin Tuck’s playbook and is going with the new “shredder” facemask, to keep offensive players from grabbing at his facemask.  It also helps that this look makes him look absolutely fierce.  I’m still in awe that Lewis has returned to practice after tearing...

Why the Baltimore Ravens won’t make the playoffs

Following the pre-season hype of the Baltimore Ravens and how their new offense would overwhelm every team they played and their perennially powerful Defensive squad would continue to dominate, the cracks have shown, and they aren’t mending. The problems of course started in the preseason when Defensive Player of the Year Terrell Suggs tore his Achilles and was expected to miss...

Report: Newton’s cockiness at Pro Bowl turned players off

The average NFL rookie would be in awe of a scene like the Pro Bowl. It may not be one of the most highly-rated television events of the year, but the NFL’s All-Star game still brings together the most talented football players in the world and a number of future Hall of Famers. Last year, Cam Newton was selected to the 2012 NFC Pro Bowl roster after an outstanding rookie season...

Cam Newton Pulled a Cam Newton and Acted Like a Dickhead at the Pro Bowl Last Year

Big Lead “He was a total —-hole,” one AFC player said. “Who did he think he was? He acted like the big ****. Here he was at his first game and he acted like he was the star. Guys didn’t like that.” The Pro Bowl is a laid-back game, one for relaxing, spending time with your peers and unwinding after a tough season. The resort where players are housed is for...

RotoWire NFL IDP Report

The media hype that comes with Lewis' return...
