Life coach fires JaMarcus Russell

Last month, former Oakland Raiders quarterback JaMarcus Russell made news after reports indicated he was in danger of losing his $2.4 million house. Now, the former No. 1 pick is making headlines once again–with this time involving his life coach’s decision to part ways with Russell. Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports reported on Thursday that John Lucas–who has helped numerous famous athletes turn their life around–has given up on helping Russell and recently asked him to leave Houston. Lucas started working with Russell back in September, but has become so frustrated with the quarterback’s “lack of effort” when it comes to training in hopes of another shot at the NFL that he’s just decided to give up on arguably one of the biggest draft busts in NFL history.
