Minnesota-vikings
The hot seat in the NFL can be a fickle topic. A coach could go from heading out the door one year to an entrenched position with the team and back to the hot seat within a couple of years (see Tom Coughlin in New York). That's been the case with Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier. According to Judd Zulgad, the Vikings head man will be seeing a contract extension in the not-so-distant future. Linebacker Chad Greenway seemed to echo Zulgad's sentiment that Frazier is a constant personality in the locker room, "His speeches are real consistent if you know what I mean. I think that's good. It is such a long season and there are so many ups and downs that I think if you have a coach that is kind of going with that; maybe he comes in Monday after a loss and he's really down and (you get a), 'This is going to ruin our season' sort of speech and that's not what Leslie is." It's true that Frazier has his team in playoff contention after a dismal season in 2011, and considering that he only has a year left on his contract following this season, it seems certain that he will get the extenuation that Zulgad spoke of. Even with an extension, however, that doesn't make Frazier immune to losing his job next season. Just a season ago, there was talk that he could lose his job after just one season. He'll likely get his extension, but he'll still likely need to have the Vikings in playoff contention next year to keep his job. 2011 isn't a distant memory, and this team has been bailed out by their superhuman running back.
