PLAYERS: Mike Leach
TEAMS: Arizona Cardinals
MIKE LEACH has made it clear there are three cardinal sins on his team: striking a woman, stealing from a teammate, and using drugs. The recent arrest of rookie lineman Denzell Dotson for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol sparked a debate among WSU partisans: Shouldn’t driving under the influence, which threatens lives on public streets, be at least as grievous as smoking pot?

Woman stalked by crazed Washington State fans, and possibly Mike Leach.

The Washington State Cougar Athletic Fund has released a video for it's "Wave It" campaign (which is an obvious reference to that annoying Washington St. flag that shows up every week in the fall on ESPN College GameDay. (What, you thought they were talking about something else? Pervert!) In it, an unsuspecting woman is shamelessly stalked by crazed Cougar fans in their...

Inside Leach's first verbal commitment

MIKE LEACH and Washington State offered Trevor Walker out of Arlington, Texas about three weeks ago. The safety prospect had a bunch of other suitors increasingly looking his way as well. But something just set Wazzu apart from the rest, he told CF.C. And the fact they told him he was the No. 1 safety prospect on their recruiting board didn't hurt either.

Leach Lands Texas Safety

Washington State coach Mike Leach returned to familiar recruiting grounds when he landed Arlington (Tex.) Mansfield Timberview safety Trevor Walker Thursday night…

Marquess Wilson still adjusting to Leach

MARQUESS WILSON A month ago was being talked about as an All-America candidate, and he'll no doubt be among the pre-season selections when the national magazines hit the stands. But since spring ball began, and again yesterday, Mike Leach has been mostly lukewarm in many of his comments about the 6-4 junior wide receiver. So what’s going on?

Seattle WR w/ WSU offer digs Leach's Air Raid

NO PREP ATHLETE has clocked a faster 60 meters time in the United States this year. He has two Pac-12 offers, including one from Mike Leach and the Cougs. And his recent unofficial visit to Wazzu was an eye opener.

Seen & Heard on Planet Coug

ADD COWBOY BOOTS to the list of non-football topics that Mike Leach has a strong opinion about. When’s newest correspondent, Adam Lewis, asked offensive line coach Clay McGuire on Thursday if the Cougar staff had veered into any off-beat conversations of late, McGuire didn’t hesitate.

Unquiet on the Western Front: Stadium rennovations, Jim Mora Jr., Mike Leach, and more.

(Unquiet on the Western Front is SWRT's look at the Pac-12, WAC, Mountain West, and other West Coast/Rocky Mountain schools extravaganza.) Be True to Your School. Arizona State is hoping that alumni and other supporters of the athletic program will step up and provide donations to the funding of the schools lofty goals, which include...

Tuel loves uncomplicated Cougar offense

SPOKANE -- The Washington State Cougars don’t expect miracles out of Mike Leach. For $2.25 million a year, however, they do expect excitement and improvement from the football team.

Northwest Sports – Leach Tries To Lead Cougars Back To Respectability

Cougs Reloading for 2012 NBA teams switch coaches all the time to try and spark their team, and it’s the same in all sports, especially in college football where the margin of error is slim and getting smaller. You need a coach who is going to be able to lure recruits to your program and Washington State has fallen behind in the Pac-12. They may have gotten their man in the offseason...

SPRING BALL DAY 13: Ready for Albi

PULLMAN—If balance is what Mike Leach wants to see, the Cougs certainly delivered in the last session before Saturday’s Crimson and Gray game in Spokane's Joe Albi Stadium. Meanwhile the D continued to be hampered by injuries, but that didn’t stop them from grabbing some takeaways off Jeff Tuel and the quarterbacks.

Leach intrigued by his new little big man

PULLMAN – Blair Bomber stands out in the crowd he hangs with because his size, 5-8 and 170 pounds, is rare in a game dominated by giants. Increasingly, though, the diminutive sophomore receiver from Whatcom County is standing out at Washington State because of his speed, hands and competitiveness. Mike Leach calls him “gritty” and says he’s faster than a famous pint-sized...

Crimson & Gray Photo Essay

SPOKANE -- The Air Raid made its public debut at Spokane's Albi Stadium on Saturday and was there to capture the action not only in writing but pictures too. Here is a 16-shot look at the launch of the Mike Leach Era.

Sun out in Spokane and Cougs shining

GORGEOUS SKIES and nearly 11,000 fans welcomed Mike Leach and his Washington State Cougars to Spokane today for the Crimson & Gray Game. The bright spots were numerous. Jeff Tuel completed 19 of 21 passes for 285 yards and two TDs -- including an 84 yarder to Marquess Wilson to launch the proceedings -- despite consistent pressure from a defense that exploited a banged up offensive line.

SPOKANE – After the performance Jeff Tuel turned in Saturday, brilliantly capping an overall stellar spring season, it's hard not to think he has a lock on the starting quarterback job. Still, head coach Mike Leach said after the Crimson & Gray Game that injured backup Connor Halliday will be given a shot to start when fall practice begins in August.

Spring Game Stuff, Etc

Happy Friday Cougs, and welcome to Spring Game Eve.  Finally we get to see some form of Mike Leach, Pirate-style football action tomorrow - in person, no less.  Yes, it's "Cougar on Cougar" violence, which is always a little weird, yet should be extremely interesting.  But like we've said before, scrimmage "games" like this are always a little strange...
