The Detroit Lions signed running back Reggie Bush to be a dangerous dual threat out of the backfield but through two quarters against the Cleveland Browns he hadn't done much of anything. At the half Bush had 14 rushing yards on seven carries and wasn't targeted once in the passing game. Part of the reason he wasn't more involved in the offense was because the Browns surprised the Lions with a different defensive look than Detroit expected. "They're a zone team on film and they come out here today and play Cover-1 the whole game" quarterback Matt Stafford said. During halftime offensive coordinator Scott Linehan called for an adjustment to the game plan. And it helped lead to a 31-17 Detroit victory. "We go in and coach Linehan has great adjustments for us" Stafford said. "He says 'Hey they want to play man coverage let's get Reggie Bush on (linebacker Craig Robertson). That's a great matchup for us.' We did it and he made plays." Stafford looked Bush's direction six times over the final two quarters. He connected with the back five times for 57 yards including a momentum-shifting 18-yard touchdown in the third quarter.
