The Detroit Lions acquired running back Ronnie Brown from the Philadelphia Eagles, who welcomed back Jerome Harrison on Tuesday.
The Eagles will also receive an undisclosed 2013 draft pick.
After playing with the Miami Dolphins throughout his career, the 29-year-old Brown had a limited role as LeSean McCoy's backup in the City of Brotherly Love this season.
The second overall pick of the 2005 draft, Brown rushed 13 times for 38 yards and had an embarrassing fumble against the San Francisco 49ers this season.
Harrison had 14 carries for 41 yards this season with the Lions. The 28-year-old had 40 rushes for 239 yards and a touchdown in eight games with the Eagles in 2010.
