The Detroit Lions in need of a wide receiver after Nate Burleson was placed on injured reserve last week with a broken leg traded a mid-round draft pick for Jacksonville Jaguars wideout Mike Thomas, according to NFL.com.
The Lions likely signed Thomas to add depth to their receiver unit as Titus Young has shown promise starting across from Calvin Johnson and Ryan Broyles is their slot man.
Thomas was drafted by the Jaguars in the fourth round of the 2009 NFL Draft. In 52 starts, Thomas has recorded 171 catches, 1,768 yards and six touchdowns. He only has 13 receptions for 80 yards this season.
