ALLEN PARK -- One of the big questions in the off-season has been: Who will start at safety along with Louis Delmas? We have a partial answer: It won't be Kalvin Pearson. The Lions have confirmed the release of Pearson, a seven-year veteran who arrived in Detroit in 2008. Pearson was brought in as a nickel back and backup safety, but injuries forced him into action. He started 10 games in 2008, but didn't get a start in 12 appearances last season.
