The Detroit Lions entered the offseason with 23 unrestricted free agents. Who's staying and who's going? Here's an update entering Thursday, Day 3 of free agency in the NFL: STAYING Jason Hanson, kicker: Contract details haven't been worked out yet, but Hanson confirmed that he will put off retirement and return for his 22nd season. Corey Hilliard, offensive tackle: Re-signed for two years and is expected to compete for starting job. Chris Houston, cornerback: Re-signed for five years and 25 million. DeAndre Levy, linebacker: Signed a three-year deal worth as much as 9.75 million. Kassim Osgood, special-teams standoutreceiver: Re-signed for one year. GOING Cliff Avril, defensive endlinebacker: Signed with Seattle for two years and 15 million. He turned down three years and 30 million last summer from the Lions. Gosder Cherilus, offensive tackle: Signed with Indianapolis for five years and 34 million. Drayton Florence, cornerback: Took one-year deal from Carolina. Nick Harris, punter: Lions aren't believed to be interested. Jerome Harrison, running back: Out of football for health reasons, but still officially listed as one of the Lions' UFAs. Sammie Hill, defensive tackle: Signed with Tennessee for three years and 11.4 million. Stefan Logan, return specialistrunning back: Lions aren't believed to be interested. Kevin Smith, running back: Lions aren't believed to be interested. TO BE DETERMINED Louis Delmas, safety: Reportedly has offers from Detroit and St. Louis and is visiting San Francisco. Justin Durant, linebacker: Made 103 tackles last season, but created no turnovers. Andre Fluellen, defensive tackle: Cut during training camp and brought back for final three games. Dylan Gandy, CG: Spent last four years with Detroit as back-up center and special-teams player. Will Heller, tight end: A reliable player, solid blocker but not a big pass-catching threat. Lawrence Jackson, defensive end: Testing the market but could compete for starting job if he returns. Jacob Lacey, cornerback: Signed as a free agent last year and started nine games. Pat Lee, defensive back: Played the final seven games, mostly on special teams. Don Muhlbach, long snapper: Named to Pro Bowl team, his consistency shouldn't be taken for granted. Corey Williams, defensive tackle: Veteran leader played only seven games in 2012 because of knee injury. EXTRA POINT The Lions also re-signed safety Amari Spievey, a restricted free agent, for one year, and offered restricted free-agent tenders to defensive end Willie Young (one year for 2 million) and offensive tackle Jason Fox (one year for 1.4 million). If another team signs Young or Fox, the Lions will have the option of matching the offer or receiving a draft pick as compensation.
