Detroit Lions expect a number of players to be fined after the melee in the Lions loss to the Bears on Sunday according to Anwar Richardson of Mlive.com. The scrap ensued after Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford threw his third interception - this one to Bears cornerback Tim Jennings - and he pursued the cornerback. While in pursuit, Stafford tangled with Bears cornerback D.J. Moore, who he grabbed by the helmet and threw to the ground. Moore responded by attacking Stafford and a tussle between the teams ensued. After the scuffle, Moore was ejected. "I thought the play on Stafford was a little bit over the line," Lions linebacker Justin Durant said. "That's how I feel about it. He was just trying to make to make a play. He had thrown an interception and was trying to get there. The guy just took it overboard ... I can imagine some people will have some $20,000 fines. I'm not sure who was doing what or if anybody was throwing blows.

Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford expects to wear gloves in two more games

Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford said he expects to wear gloves in two more games because of a fractured finger in his throwing hand.

Stafford: His gloves need to stay on

Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford said he would wear gloves again for Sunday's game against Carolina to help the grip on his injured right index finger because "it's not really strong enough or healthy enough to grip without them."

Bears dominate Stafford, Lions 37-13

CHICAGO -- Matthew Stafford trudged off Soldier Fields turf to the locker room holding a pair of gloves in one hand, a white bandage on his right index finger and four interceptions glowing on his box-score line. All of these items -- the gloves, the bandage, the interceptions -- were evidence and fodder for speculation from the 37-13 whipping the Chicago Bears gave the Lions Sunday...

Matthew Stafford, D.J. Moore at center of Bears-Lions fight (video)

Bears defensive back D.J. Moore was ejected in the fourth quarter Sunday on a play that precipitated a skirmish between several players in front of the Lions’ bench. Frustration surfaced when Tim Jennings came up with the Bears’ third interception of the game. During the return, replays showed that...

Stafford Tryin To Brawl Like A Champ…

When you have a bunch of real tough guys like the MEN on the Chicago Bears roster beating fake Detroit Lion tough guys like blonde headed step children (why does it have to be red?), FIGHTS WILL GO DOWN. So during the Bears 37-13 beat down of the Lions, there were about 10 different real fights with the best fight being when my man Matt Stafford tossed Bears cornerback DJ Moore to...

Lions and Bears fight

Matthew Stafford took out some frustration following his third interception Sunday by throwing Bears cornerback D.J. Moore to the turf. You'll see what happened next. This won't help the stigma the Lions have obtained over the last month. They're doing work to try to earn the "dirty" tag. Stafford finished the game with four picks. Calvin Johnson and...

Bears DB Moore ejected after fight with Lions QB Stafford

Chicago Bears defensive back D.J. Moore was ejected in the fourth quarter Sunday on a play that precipitated a skirmish between several players in front of the Detroit Lions' bench.

The Fantasy Fool: Questions abound as the fantasy postseason looms

On a weekend when DeSean Jackson was benched for missing a team meeting and Matt Stafford threw more scoring passes to the Chicago defense than he did to his own receivers, I suppose we shouldn't be shocked that the best quarterback on the field in Philly on Sunday was named John Skelton.

Hey, that was MY record!

This made me laugh out loud. Mike Bobo said he heard from Matt Stafford after the Auburn game, complaining in jest about Georgia’s passing strategy. Aaron Murray passed for four touchdowns, along the way passing Matt Stafford on the single-season Georgia list, and tying Stafford on the career list. “Stafford, he texted me after the game,” Bobo said, laughing. “He goes: ...

Lions Lose Grudge Match With The Bears

The Detroit Lions traveled to Chicago yesterday, where they took on the Bears in what ended up being an all out grudge match. They were also handed their 3rd loss in the last 4 games, final score, 37-13. One thing I can say, is there is never a dull moment when it comes to the Lions. Going from an 0-16 season to a 5-0 start to the season, then following up with 3 losses, well, consistency...

Are the Lions a "dirty" team? So what if they are?

To answer my own question, I have to admit...yes, the Lionsdo cross the line dividing aggressive and dirty. Sometimes they leap over it. They did several times in the loss to the Bears. Do I care? No. Was Nick Fairley's hit on Jay Cutler a dirty play? Sure. Some of the loudest cries are coming out of Chicago. But if it were Matthew Stafford instead of Cutler being driven...

Lions blown apart by Bears

It started with fumbles by receivers Calvin Johnson and Nate Burleson. Then it was quarterback Matthew Stafford's turn. He was picked off for touchdowns in each of the Lions' first two possessions of the second half.
