Detroit Lions running back Kevin Smith had to be helped off the practice field Wednesday after colliding with a teammate.Smith and tight end Tony Scheffler collided after both men were caught looking the other way. Smith got the worst of it, slamming to the turf and having to be helped up by trainers.Smith eventually limped off the field. An update on his status wasn't immediately available.Smith battled a high ankle sprain for most of the season, finishing with 72 carries for 356 yards and four touchdowns in seven games.The Lions face the New Orleans Saints in an NFL wild-card game this weekend.
