Detroit Lions running back Kevin Smith said he expects to play in Sunday night's game against the New Orleans Saints.
Smith suffered an ankle injury and had to be helped off the field in a Thanksgiving Day loss to the Green Bay Packers.
Re-signed by the Lions at midseason, he erupted for 140 yards and two touchdowns and caught four passes for another score in a 49-35 victory over Carolina on Nov. 20.
If Smith is limited or unable to play, Maurice Morris will get the bulk of the carries.
