Just call him Scoop Osgood. The Detroit Lions havent made it official, but they are apparently on the verge of adding cornerback Drayton Florence, who was cut Friday by Denver. The person who broke the story about Florence coming to Detroit was none other than Kassim Osgood, a receiverspecial-teams standout for the Lions. They were teammates on the San Diego Chargers. We would like to welcome Drayton Florence to the Lions! Osgood wrote in a message he posted Saturday on Twitter. Florence, 31, a second-round pick by San Diego in 2003, is entering his 10th year in the NFL. He has made 96 starts, including all 16 games each of the last two seasons with Buffalo. The Lions, meanwhile, have signed at least five players to their practice squad: Receiver Patrick Edwards, running back Stephfon Green, linebacker Carmen Messina, offensive guard Rodney Austin and cornerback Ross Weaver (Michigan State). All had been released after participating in the teams training camp.

Detroit Lions preseason recap

When all is said and done, the preseason is not the actual season. The goal of training camp is to find out who belongs on your team, and who doesn’t.  This, of course, is all done with a major emphasis on staying healthy. The Lions were able to accomplish their preseason goal in a healthy manner, making the 2012 preseason a success in my mind.  While the team didn’t look as...

The smell of football is in the air. Here are my 2012 Week 1 fantasy football quarterback rankings..1.  Matthew Stafford, Detroit Lions I see Stafford picking up where he left off with a favorable home match-up against the Rams. Without much of a running game, it will be up to Stafford and Megatron to move the chains..2.  Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints The Saints are going...

Detroit Lions 38, Buffalo Bills 32: Preseason Hunt Report

The Detroit Lions closed out the preseason with an offensive bang on Thursday night, scoring early and often and doing just enough on defense to hold off the pesky Bills. The starters looked solid, many second stringers looked solid and the team ended things on a high note. The preseason hunt as a whole was average at 2-2, but the Lions will enter the regular season with late momentum...

Lions tell P Ryan Donahue he's expected to be cut

The Detroit Lions say they have notified punter Ryan Donahue he can expect to be released. That seems to mean Ben Graham beat out Donahue for a spot. Matt Stafford Poses With Kid Rock

We are Detroit Rock Players Juan… Matt Stafford showed what he was capable of when he stayed healthy for a complete season in 2011.  5,000 yards and 40 TDs sounds like a breakout season to me.  Kid Rock is obviously a big Detroit Sports Fan so of course posing with it’s sports stars is a very cool thing for all involved.  AP Hits The MSF Cosell On Ridley
