The Detroit Lions have scheduled a visit with free agent cornerback Jacob Lacey according to DetroitLions.com. Lacey will be the first defensive back the Lions have looked at to replace 16-game starter Eric Wright but he may not be the last. Lacey was benched for a five-game stretch by the Colts last season, and graded out as one of the poorer cornerbacks in the league by Pro Football Focus. He is still two months shy of his 25th birthday, however, and may improve with better coaching.

2012 NFL Free Agency: Peyton Manning Needs To Make A Decision
Pro Football Talk is reporting that some teams are “getting worn out” by the Peyton Manning process. This makes perfect sense to me. After all, it has been a week since he was released by the Indianapolis Colts and teams just need to get moving with their offseason plans.
At this point, the four teams that are favorites to land Manning are in a holding pattern until he makes...
Report: WR Wayne agrees to three-year deal with Colts
Reggie Wayne will not be joining Peyton Manning after all.
The veteran wide receiver elected to stay with the Indianapolis Colts by agreeing to a three-year deal on Tuesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Wayne had 75 receptions for 960 yards and four touchdowns last season.
The 33-year-old Wayne was looking into possibly joining his longtime...
Calvin Johnson Is Wasting No Time Putting His New Contract to Good Use
The Lions opened the 2012 free agency period on Wednesday with a bang, re-signing Calvin Johnson to a record breaking (for a wide receiver) 8 year, $132 million contract. The deal includes $60 million guaranteed, the most in NFL history. While this might seem like reckless spending from the Lions front office, I give you three reasons otherwise.
1. This.
2. The deal...
49ers Pursuing Lions Free Agent CB Eric Wright
The Detroit Lions may soon part ways with cornerback Eric Wright during free agency. According to several sources, the San Fransisco 49ers are making a hard push to sign Wright right now. NFL free agency began at 4 p.m. today and Wright is one the main players San Francisco targeted. Last season, Wright earned $2 million on a one-year deal. Wright finished with 74 tackles, four interceptions...
Discrimination Case Outs Unsettling Colts Conduct
When it was initially filed in federal court last year, the racial/ethnic orgin discrimination lawsuit brought by ex-Indianapolis Colts cheerleader Malori Wampler against the NFL franchise seemed dubious.
(Colts “Moral Standards” Apply To Indonesian Wampler, Not Caucasian Collier?)
Then Colts Cheerleading Coordinator Theresa Pottratz participated in a sworn deposition last...
Ticket sales slow; still a waiting list
The Colts told WISH-TV that ticket sales have slowed following last year's 2-14 season and the following player purge. There is still however a waiting list:
The team says last season’s bad play on the field is the reason why. Still, the once golden ticket isn't so golden anymore but some say with a little bit of Luck, that could change quickly.

The Colts say the...
Reggie Wayne returns to Colts on three-year deal
In a shocking turn of events, Reggie Wayne will be returning to the only team he’s ever called home.
Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Colts agreed to a three-year contract with Wayne, bringing the veteran receiver back to Indy as, presumably, Andrew Luck’s top future target.
NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora reports the pact is worth a “max” of $17.5 million.
This is a particularly...
Detroit Lions give Calvin Johnson largest contract in NFL history
The Detroit Lions have locked up WR Calvin Johnson for the next 7 years. Johnson and the Lions have come to terms on a $132 million deal, with $60 million guaranteed. That officially gives Johnson the biggest contract in NFL history, surpassing Larry Fitzgerald’s contract with the Cardinals. Johnson is only 26 and is coming off one of [...]
Pierre Garcon Is The Latest Washington Redskin
WASHINGTON—It looks like former Colt Pierre Garcon wide receiver will get the honor of being the target-of-choice for QB Robert Griffin III.
If the Redskins pick Griffin (which they will), Garcon has just set himself up for the long haul.
Garcon just posted the following message on his Facebook page.
“I wanted you all to hear it from me 1st before u saw it on the news… I...
NFL Draft Profile: Jared Chick
A 3-4 Defensive End out of Nebraska, Jared Crick is a potential dancing partner for the Indianapolis Colts in the upcoming draft. With the assumed transition to a 3-4 defense and the shopping around of Dwight Freeney the Colts are also badly in the need of a defensive end that can hold the edge. Jared Crick is a potential guy for the Colts to take a look at early in the draft...
Calvin Johnson Receives Beastly Contract
He's a beast T..
The Detroit Lions have made Calvin Johnson the highest-paid receiver by signing Megatron to a new eight-year contract worth up to $132 million. The team announced the signing today, the second day of NFL free agency. The player’s agent, Bus Cook, said the deal is worth $60 million guaranteed if Johnson plays all eight years through the 2019 season. This guy...
Report: Broncos seek second look at Manning
RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- The Denver Broncos seem to be headed for another meeting with Peyton Manning.
The four-time NFL MVP and top free agent of the offseason has not signed with a new team since being released March 7 by the Indianapolis Colts.
On Friday, the same plane that picked up the star quarterback for a session with Broncos brass late last week was en route to the Raleigh...
