According to Anwar Richardson of MLive.com,  there’s concern within the Detroit Lions organization that running back Jahvid Best’s career could be over after suffering a concussion earlier in the season that ultimately ended his season prematurely. The Lions drafted Mikel Leshoure of Illinois, but his rookie season was over before it started, after suffering a season ending Achilles injury in preseason. There’s a really good chance the Lions might try their luck once again in this year’s draft, by taking another running back.

Bill Ford Jr. Wouldn't Trade QB Matthew Stafford For Any Quarterback

It's been 50 years in the making, but the Lions are certain they've found a passer for the ages in Matthew Stafford. "I think Matthew is terrific," Bill Ford Jr., the Lions' vice chairman, told the team's official website this week. "I wouldn't trade Matthew for any quarterback in the league, given his age. The guy is 23 years old, he just had a...

Stability on Coaching Staff for Detroit Lions Heading into 2012 Season

With the re-signing of receivers coach Shawn Jefferson last week, as reported by MLive.com and other sources, the Detroit Lions have ensured that its 2011 coaching staff will remain intact for 2012. The Lions expect such continuity in the coaching ranks will bring the team even closer to reaching the Super Bowl next year than this season’s 10-6 record and first-round playoff loss...

Detroit Lions fan admits to phoning in bomb hoax versus Saints

The Detroit Lions were one of the remarkable turnaround stories in the NFL this season, but perhaps their fans are going to have to find new ways to deal with their favorite team’s success. One Detroit Lions fan, heading to Federal court on Monday, is facing charges of threatening to blow up the Louisiana Superdome during the Lions playoff loss to the New Orleans Saints. According...

Lions Fan Made Bomb Threat During Playoff Game

The Detroit Lions needed some help in their playoff loss to the New Orleans Saints. Defensive help that is and not help from any crazy fans, like the one who thought it was a smart idea to phone in a bomb threat to the Superdome during the game. The fan, 34-year-old Shawn Payton of Jackson, Michigan, called the Superdome during the game and asked the receptionist to pass along a threat...

Extra points: Lions fan goes too far?

The Lions dropped their first playoff game in 12 seasons and at least one man took things a little too hard. Drew Sharp: Lions need to give Stafford tools for title

Between the Lions, Red Wings and Tigers, which team has the fastest closing window? It's not the Wings. It's actually the Lions. In the NFL, if you don't move quickly, somebody is moving past you.

Detroit Sports Links - Brandon Inge Isn't Too Happy, Jahvid Best Might Be Done as a Lion, Pavel ...

Not surprisingly, Brandon Inge doesn't like the fact that he's being replaced by Miguel Cabrera next season. I have to agree with our buddy Bryan when he says that Inge needs to be cut loose before the start of the upcoming season. Here's a scary (but good) thought: Pavel Datsyuk doesn't think he's playing his best hockey right now. Look out, NHL. [h/t Winging...
