Lions coach Jim Schwartz has gone back to Manny Ramirez at left guard, at least for the time being. After a solid performance at Seattle, Ramirez likely will start again Sunday at Minnesota.
"I think, at this point, I don't foresee us having any change," offensive coordinator Scott Linehan said. "We always make our decisions on our starting lineups on Saturday night. Jim makes that decision. But I think he made a strong case for staying in there."
Schwartz tried three different starters at left guard during the first half of the season: Ramirez, Daniel Loper and Jon Jansen.
The rest of the offensive line has stayed intact, except for one game when Jansen filled in at right tackle while Gosder Cherilus sat out with a shoulder injury.
Loper started at left guard in the opener. Ramirez started the next four games. Then Loper started again. Then Jansen got a shot, playing his first game at guard after years at right tackle.
Now Schwartz has gone back to Rami...
