Despite speculation that Lions wide receiver Titus Young might be suspended for head-butting an opponent last Sunday, the team has decided he has learned his lesson and will let him play in Sunday's game against the 49ers, the Detroit News reported. Young received a personal foul for head-butting St. Louis Rams cornerback Janoris Jenkins on Sunday, and he was benched at the start of the third quarter as a result. But coaches say he has responded well this week. "He's worked hard, ready to go and contribute and do a great job for us," offensive coordinator Scott Linehan told the News. "We've got great leadership. I think guys understand that, and he's still a young player. He learned just being accountable; that's a great place to start."

Handshakes or not, new look Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers will always play a good game

As thrilling as the event was for America in a voyeuristic sort of way, I find myself wishing last year's "handshake gate" incident had never happened. It overshadowed everything that was important in an otherwise fantastic football game between the Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers. Lost in all the fury and discussion about proper handshake decorum was the...

Lions guard Sims prepared all year for 49ers matchup

ALLEN PARK, Mich. Detroit Lions offensive guard Rob Sims has been pointing to Sundays matchup against San Francisco defensive tackle Justin Smith since the day the NFL schedule was released. Jones put the rumor to rest during an interview with ESPN Playbook later in the day and showcased some of her trademark witty sarcasm in the process. “We are not currently dating,” Jones...

Nate Burleson: Calvin Johnson better than Randy Moss in prime
