The Cleveland Browns had a pair of cornerbacks leave the game during the first quarter. Rookie cornerback Cameron Mitchell left after awkwardly falling on an attempt to get in on a tackle made by D'Anthony Bell.
He later went on to the medical tent to be evaluated but returned to the bench. Not going to the locker room is a positive sign while we wait to see if he is able to return.
Cornerback Mike Ford left the field not too long after and was immediately taken to the blue medical tent for evaluation. He would later head to the locker room with trainers for further evaluation. The team would rule him out for the remainder of the game with what is being described as a shoulder injury.
Unfortunately, both Mitchell and Ford are competing for the final few spots in the corner room and are both likely to make the initial 53-man roster. The Browns are looking for one of them to take control of the backup slot corner role.
For the Browns depth at corner is getting thin for the remainder of this game. The team didn't dress their starters, cornerback A.J. Green is also out from the shoulder injury he suffered last Friday night against the Commanders.
