The Washington Redskins and long snapper Nick Sundberg have reached an agreement in principle on a four-year deal, two people with knowledge of the situation said Sunday. Sundberg was one of Washington’s six restricted free agents, but he now becomes the fourth — joining Logan Paulsen, Rob Jackson and Darrel Young – to agree to deals. The remaining two, nose tackle Chris Baker and return man Brandon Banks, remain unsigned. Sundberg broke his left arm in Week 1 vs. the Saints but completed the game while injured. After being placed on injured reserve and designated to return, Sundberg came back in Week 11 and completed the season. Source: Washington Post

Redskins GM: Cap penalty a 'travesty'

General Manager Bruce Allen said Monday the Washington Redskins were the victims of a ''travesty of fairness'' because of a $36 million salary cap penalty that has severely hampered the team's offseason plans. Allen hedged, however, when asked whether the team was warned ahead of time about the behavior that brought forth the sanction, saying only that the team...

Redskins re-sign Lichtensteiger: Wunderbar

The Washington Redskins finally reached five-year deal with Korey Lichtensteiger and all I can say is: Wunderbar, German for wonderful. The Redskins offensive line in 2012 was one of the best in the NFL and Lichtensteiger was one of the best members of that line. Alfred Morris could not have had his rookie record-breaking season without that offensive line. The only question it raises...

Redskins cut DeAngelo Hall

The Washington Redskins have cut CB DeAngelo Hall as part of the team's effort to get  under the NFL salary cap before the start of the free agency season tomorrow.  This news comes as a surprise to precisely no one, since cutting Hall and  his $8 million cap figure allows the Redskins to, at one stroke, get under the 2013 NFL salary cap, which is $123 million for most...

It has been speculated about for a few weeks and the Washington Redskins have finally parted ways with DeAngelo Hall, adding another talented cornerback to the pool of available free agents. Alex Marvez reported on Saturday that a source told FOXSports.com that Redskins special-teams ace Lorenzo Alexander has drawn interest from multiple teams and that the Redskins are "looking unlikely to re-sign him." Cornerback DeAngelo Hall is back with the Washington Redskins, agreeing to a more affordable one-year contract after being cut for salary cap reasons three weeks ago.
