Los Angeles Chargers schedule release video 2024 reaches insane social media stats
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Chargers social media team has long been the kings of the NFL schedule release videos. Just when football fans thought the 2023 version couldn’t be topped, the Chargers schedule release video 2024 proved otherwise.

Credit to Los Angeles for mixing things up in 2024. Many have grown fond of the usage of anime to both reveal the schedule and keep everyone entertained throughout the entire video. This time around, the team mixed it up by featuring the Sims in the 2024 Chargers schedule release video.

In the video which is 3 minutes and 20 seconds, there are easter eggs to keep close observers rewatching it for hours. Among them, the Chargers took a shot at Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker, New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce and there were countless digs at the Las Vegas Raiders.

The great thing about these videos created by the creative people working with the Chargers is that there are easter eggs for everyone. From Pittsburgh Steelers’ receiver George Pickens viral moment when he got drafted to Denver Broncos coach Sean Payton ‘returning’ his players to Wal-Mart and even the Cleveland Browns’ dysfunctional quarterback factory, it’s enough to keep football fans coming back. Sure enough, the numbers reflect that.

Los Angeles Chargers schedule release video stats (by year)

  • 2024: YouTube – 222,000 views, 6,300 likes — Twitter – 37.2 million views, 17,000 RTs, 91,000 likes

The Chargers schedule release video in 2024 has already blown past the number of views it received on Twitter/X last year and it’s well on pace to eclipse the number of likes from last year, too. While it hasn’t fared quite as well on YouTube, that will be the place where most fans go to watch it in the months to come.

It wouldn’t be totally fair to compare other teams’ schedule release video to what the Chargers’ produce. Los Angeles is in a completely different league than its peers, operating at a creative level that no other NFL team really comes close to.

Even the Tennessee Titans’ recreation of their viral team names video from 2023, generated just 4.6 million views with 25,000 likes and 5,300 retweets on Twitter/X. Those are great numbers, especially in comparison to teams like the New England Patriots (3.3 million views and 14,000 likes) and Green Bay Packers (2.8 million views and 10,000 likes)

When it comes to NFL schedule release videos, no one does it better than the Chargers and no one has it better than us. We can’t wait to see what they do in 2025.
