Los Angeles Rams select Kamren Kinchens: Most head-turning highlights of Miami safety's college career
Mandatory Credit: Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Rams took a defense-first approach in the 2024 NFL Draft with x of their 11 total selections being players on the defensive side of the ball.

One of them was former Miami ballhawking safety Kamren Kinchens, who the team took off the board at pick No. 99 overall in the third round of the event.

Kinchens made a notable impact within the Hurricanes secondary that was one for the record books.

He was the first player Miami has had on the roster to record at least 10 career interceptions since Sean Taylor did it between 2001 and 2003. Ed Reed is the only other defensive back in Hurricanes history to reach the same total.

Kinchens finished out his career with 162 combined tackles (99 solo), 11 interceptions and 1 sack.

He also achieved the highest PFF coverage grade of 90.7 for 2022, best among all safeties in the country. It was in that same year that he registered one of the strongest performances, if not the strongest performance, of his career.

In the game against Georgia Tech, he recorded 8 tackles and 3 interceptions -- including a 99-yard interception returned for a touchdown.

Here's a look at the biggest highlights of Kinchens' college career at Miami:
