Mike Shanahan says his captains need to keep their cool. The Washington Redskins coach was referring to DeAngelo Hall's rough day in a 34-27 loss to the New England Patriots. The cornerback and defensive co-captain gave up early on a play that turned into a 49-yard gain after a catch by tight end Rob Gronkowski. Hall later drew an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for disrespectfully tossing an official's flag to protest a defensive holding call. Shanahan said Monday that players in leadership roles have to handle themselves ''in a professional manner.'' The loss dropped the Redskins to 4-9. They visit the New York Giants on Sunday.
