Losses Mount For Philadelphia Eagles Heading Into New Orleans
The Philadelphia Eagles had another tough day at the office Sunday as they dropped a 30-17 decision to the undefeated Atlanta Falcons as 3-point home favorites. Now 3-4 straight-up and slipping out of playoff contention, the Eagles will next travel to take on the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.
Philadelphia was never in contention against Atlanta in Week 8, despite head coach Andy Reid’s perfect 13-0 record following a bye and the switch of defensive coordinators during the off week. In fact, it was again the beleaguered Eagles defense that helped the team’s demise Sunday.
Atlanta put points on the board in six straight possessions to start the game against new coordinator Todd Bowles’ unit. That opening salvo proved too much to overcome for the Eagles.
