LaDainian Tomlinson is still getting used to retired life from the NFL. And retired life must be really good because the former All-Pro running back has turned down an offer to return to the league. Tomlinson told Michael Silver of Yahoo.com that he recently turned down an offer by the San Diego Chargers to return to the team. Tomlinson was approached by new Chargers general manager Tom Telesco and new head coach Mike McCoy at the NFL Scouting Combine about returning to the team in a limited capacity. "They said, 'You can come back and carry it 10 or 12 times a game. We'd like to have you here," Tomlinson told Silver. The 33-year-old Tomlinson, who finished his career as the NFL's fifth all-time leading rusher with 13,684 yards, has made a smooth transition from the field to the television booth where he works as an analyst for the NFL Network ... and he made it pretty clear that to himself that once he left the game, he wasn't coming back. "When I made the decision to walk away, I wrestled with it long and hard, and I knew it was final," Tomlinson said. "Once I retired, that was it. My mind is in a difference place. Mentally, going back would have been too hard.
