Left tackle Max Starks has agreed to a one-year contract with the San Diego Chargers to help protect Philip Rivers' blind side. Starks, who is 6-foot-8 and 345 pounds, spent his first nine seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played every offensive snap for the Steelers last year despite tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during the Steelers' playoff loss at Denver the previous season. He won two Super Bowl rings with Pittsburgh, starting at right tackle against Seattle in 2006 and starting at left tackle against Arizona in 2009. Starks has experience at both tackle positions while starting 96 of 123 regular-season games played and eight starts in 10 playoff games. Also Tuesday, the Chargers released tackle Kevin Haslam.

The first OTA session of the 2013 season for the Pittsburgh Steelers will get underway on Tuesday and I sure do hope that somebody gets rookie quarterback Landry Jones a Terrible Towel during the week, and more importantly, explains the history of it to him. Why? According to an interview that Jones did last week at the 17th Annual NFLPA Rookie Premiere, he doesn't know much...

Report: Chargers Sign OT Max Starks

Josina Anderson received a text from OT Max Starks that mentioned he’s signing with the San Diego Chargers. Starks mentioned that he signed a one-year deal with the team. The Chargers have been in contact with offensive tackle options in the past few weeks, so it’s not surprising to see them some additional help. Starks, 31, spent a number of seasons with the Steelers, but...

Steelers S Troy Polamalu Says Calf Has Bothered Him For Last Four Years

While he might not have shown up in the same shape that he was when he came out of USC many moons ago, Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu still looked to be in pretty good shape for the first OTA session of the 2013 season that got underway on Tuesday. Report: Steelers Rookie WR Reggie Dunn Has Yet To Master Catching Punts

On Monday, I posted a few things that I was hoping we would learn from the Pittsburgh Steelers first OTA session of the 2013 season that got underway on Tuesday and one of those items concerned rookie undrafted free agent wide receiver Reggie Dunn, and more specifically, his ability to return punts. It just so happens that Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette posted about...

Pittsburgh Steelers rookie wide receiver Justin Brown is about to enter the second phase of his transition into the NFL with the first OTA session getting underway Tuesday in Pittsburgh, but transition is something that the Oklahoma product is probably pretty used to by now. Chargers have Te'o on gag order?

Chargers director of public relations Bill Johnston said that the team is trying to shield Manti Te'o from the media so the rookie can remain "focused on becoming a Charger."

Chargers adding fuel to the fire with Te’o?

Much has been said since Michael Gehlken of U-T San Diego stated the San Diego Chargers decided not to make Manti Te’o available to the local media. While the Chargers call it an organizational decision some may say it allows Manti Te’o to focus on the playbook, new system, coaches, and teammates. By not feeding Te’o to the wolves, it gives him time to heal and for people...
