Showing the benefits of a bye week, Eli Manning threw a 16-yard touchdown pass to rookie Rueben Randle and set up another score with a 59-yard screen pass to help the New York Giants take a 17-7 first-quarter lead over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night. Andre Brown scored on a 2-yard run after the long pass to Ahmad Bradshaw and Lawrence Tynes kicked a 43-yard field goal after a Corey Webster interception in the game that had the early signs of a shootout at MetLife Stadium. Aaron Rodgers and Jordy Nelson hooked up on a 61-yard scoring pass that had to be reviewed to see if the receiver stepped out of bounds before making the catch. Each team scored a touchdown on its opening possession, with the Giants accomplishing the feat for the first time since playing Carolina in the third week of the season. The Manning to Bradshaw screen, which was set up by a fake end around, gave New York a first and goal at the Packers 2. Rodgers needed only four plays to take the Packers 77 yards. The scoring pass came after he eluded a pass rush, allowing Nelson to get behind Webster. Green Bay had a chance to take the lead on its second possession but Mason Crosby was wide left on a 55-yard field goal. The Giants went 55 yards in eight plays on the ensuring series with Manning keeping the drive alive with a 13-yard, third-down scramble on which he tried to run over cornerback Tramon Williams. Randle got his first career TD reception and Manning threw his first touchdown pass in four games to cap the drive. Webster came off receiver James Jones to step in front of Randall Cobb and intercept Rodgers on the next play from scrimmage. Tynes kicked his field goal four plays later. The Giants came into the game riding a two-game losing streak and looking to snap the Packers' five-game winning streak. Packers defensive end C.J. Wilson injured a knee on the opening series and was listed as questionable to return. Backup linebacker Jamari Lattimore hurt a calf.

New York Giants’ Eli Manning Expects Green Bay Packers’ Defense to Be Very Aggressive on Sunday

When New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin addressed the media on Wednesday, he touched on the Green Bay Packers‘ defense and noted that they are often successfully aggressive; that despite giving up a lot of yards through the air, they frequently force turnovers. It’s something that quarterback Eli Manning has also noticed during film [...] [[ This is a content summary only...

Eli Manning and the Giants make the Packers look like they have “dead-arm”

After not throwing a touchdown in three straight games, the New York Giants Eli Manning threw three of them in a 38-10 rout of the Green Bay Packers. The nasty injury-bug finally caught up to the Packers (7-4) who looked lost on the offensive line and couldn’t stop any facet of the Giants’ (7-4) offensive attack. What It Means: Though many of the team’s concerns were blown...

Manning becomes Giants' TD-pass king in rout of Packers

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The New York Giants, fresh off their bye week, avoided their first winless November since 2004 by dominating the Green Bay Packers 38-10 Sunday night in front of 80,365 at MetLife Stadium. As usual, Packers-Giants counts for a lot

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The last time the Packers and New York Giants met, all the positive moments from Green Bay's nearly perfect 15-1 regular season became relatively meaningless. The 37-20 playoff beatdown Eli Manning helped deliver on a cold mid-January afternoon at Lambeau Field continued another improbable postseason run for New York that concluded with Peyton's little...

Packers embarrassed by Giants in 38-10 loss

The Green Bay Packers had better hope they don't see the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants again anytime soon. The Packers' five-game winning streak came to an embarrassing end as Eli Manning threw three touchdowns and Giants routed Green Bay 38-10 in a nationally televised game Sunday night. Coming on the heels of last season's loss in the NFL semifinal...

Giants roll as Eli's rested arm silences Packers

New York Giants QB Eli Manning certainly appeared well rested. His arm did need a nice rest; he didn't think so at first, but if last night's rout of the Green Bay Packers is any indication, it was just what he needed. Manning was 16-of-30 passing for 249 yards and three touchdowns. "I never thought my arm was tired, never felt like it," Manning said, via ESPN...

NFL Week 12 Power Rankings

The story of the Giants doesn't need to be retold. We knew this would happen. They'd mess with our heads, even saying Eli Manning's arm was tired, lose a few winnable games, then beat down one of the league's top teams on national television and look like one of the league's top teams. They aren't [...]

The Green Bay Packers Are Cooked... Or Are They?

The New York Giants delivered a 38-10 haymaker to the Green Bay Packers last night.   The Giants could have scored 50 if they really wanted to.   From the looks of things last night Green Bay is toast and will skid to a 7-9…8-8 season and miss the playoffs.   Or will they?   Recent NFL and especially New York Giant history tells an interesting tale that Packer fans can...
