Peyton Manning’s options have been become more clear over the last few days and we are getting closer to finding out who will have the future Hall of Famer under center. One team may surprise you!

The possibilities reported early on included teams on either coast, in america’s heartland, and a one a mile high! I can imagine that 2/3′s of the league at least considered if it was an option. The pundits have discussed offensive lines, salary caps, current weapons, and other elements that could affect Peyton’s decision. A few favorites emerged the last two weeks that seemed to fit the blue print.

One of the early favorites were the Miami Dolphins. They seemed to have a good fit, and then they traded Brandon Marshall this week! It could have only been thought that the move was to appease a Manning request, but only a day or two later we found out that was not the case. Manning reportedly has made the Dolphins aware that he is not interested. The Dolphins have turned their attention to this year’s Kevin Kolb, former Packer Matt Flynn.

The Denver Broncos, on the other hand, have remained in the race. John Elway is selling his late career success at Denver and apparently Peyton is buying it. He wouldn’t have a premier running game, he would have only average weapons, and it’s cold! Yet, the team was invited to watch a workout at Duke by Manning. This would be the biggest win for the franchise since the last Super Bowl victory by Elway.

The Titans have emerged as another top option in the last few weeks. The owner has made it clear he would do whatever needed to be done. He not only has Chris Johnson and a good offensive line, he has sentimental value on his side. Manning has close ties to the state due to his college days. His wife also hails from the state. The Titans have really begun to make the most sense in my book. He would remain in the AFC South with it’s very familiar opponents. He would have total control of his offense and would probably have a say in the roster moves. Tennessee has plenty to offer to number 18.

A surprise team in the running was brought out into the open today as the San Francisco 49ers made their presence known! Earlier in the week the Niners made headlines by taking a chance on Randy Moss. Maybe, the Niners were not doing this just to shore up their receiving corp but to entice a certain big armed QB. San Fran brings not only history to the table, but of the finalists, they were close without Manning to going to a Super Bowl. Their lack of offense is what kept this team out of the big game last year. Peyton has to think a team that went 13-3 could only get better with him at the helm.

Wherever he goes, it will be a big deal and we expect the decision to be made within the next few days. So good luck to the Broncos, Titans, and Niners because who ever gets this man will have to win now.
