Marcus Lattimore didn't have one devastating knee injury in college, he had two. The talented running back's future was in high doubt in the fall of 2012, but he's one of the great stories emerging from the NFL Draft. The South Carolina product worked hard to get in a position to be drafted and in the meantime built a following of support from family, friends, and the media. One supporter ended up being his new backfield mate San Francisco's Frank Gore, who had torn the ACL in both of his knees in college. According to Eric Branch of SFGate.com, Gore contacted Lattimore after his injury and let him know he could come back stronger. Branch writes: 'Gore called the South Carolina star a few days after he sustained a horrific knee injury in late October. At the time, Lattimore wasn't sure he'd ever play again after tearing three of the four major ligaments in his right knee, which was also dislocated. Gore, who tore the ACL in both of his knees in college, offered support. "He's just told me to keep that positive mind-set, and that's what I've been doing these past five, six months," Lattimore said. "And I feel like that's why I'm doing so great with my rehab."
