According to ProFootballWeekly.com, the belief in Seattle is that veteran cornerback Marcus Trufant will be a great fit as the Seahawks’ nickel-back this coming season.
“This is good for him, since he won’t have to turn and run downfield as much and can keep plays in front of him,” said one team source, per PFW.
Trufant is still a talented player even though he’s clearly past him prime. Limiting his snaps as a nickel corner will help him be moreeffective when he’s in the game.
BEST OF MAXIM
Doug Baldwin barely made it into the NFL in 2011. As an undrafted free agent he signed with the Seattle Seahawks, and then became their leading receiver. Building on that momentum, Baldwin started working out with the guy who could make or break his sophomore year, Matt Flynn.
The two met in Pensacola Florida this week to start getting their timing down.

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Matt Flynn and wide receiver Doug Baldwin recently met up in Miami to work out together. Flynn sees something special in Baldwin who had a break out season in 2011 as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Stanford.
“Last year, Doug being undrafted, obviously, I’m sure he had something to prove coming in, a chip on his shoulder, and...
According to the Seattle Post, none of Mike Williams, Ben Obomanu, and Deon Butler are locks to make the Seahawks’ roster. The report called Doug Baldwin, Golden Tate, and Sidney Rice as the only locks to make the roster, as the trio of Williams, Obomanu, and Butler will have to compete with youngsters Ricardo Lockette and Kris Durham. Durham was a 4th round pick in 2011 that did...
Seahawks quarterback Tarvaris Jackson told KSTP-AM in St. Paul that he feels at home in Seattle.
“It just feels a lot different in Seattle,” said Jackson ”I feel like I’m welcome there. It was like home. It’s a fresh start for me. I was looking forward to it, looking forward to getting that new start somewhere, and so far, it’s been good.”

As you’re reading sportsbook reviews (find more here) to find a new book for the NFL season, you may be thinking of Seattle’s chances in the NFC West and even though they’re well behind San Francisco, they need all hands on deck to mount a serious challenge. However, their most disruptive defensive player could be on the cusp of a holdout and that...

Chris Clemons was one of only a few players to hold out of his team’s mandatory minicamp last month and he was fined for doing so. He did so because he wanted a new contract, as he heads into a contract year, but, even though he has yet to receive one, a Seahawks insider talks Pro Football Weekly that Clemons will be there for the start of Training Camp with or without a new deal...
CFL vs. NFL
No it’s not quite the level of the Lion vs the Tuna but still thought about taking a fun compare and contrast look at the two North West football teams.
While I may be one of the few that would be man enough to say that I prefer to watch the BC Lions games over a Seattle Seahawks game, it may just be the homer in me coming out.
Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy my...

Oh man, what a list!
With the 2012 football season nearing, I thought I would take a look at the best of the best when it comes to the talent that has been asked to raise the 12th man flag at Century Link Field prior to Seahawks home games.
Nothing quite whips a crowd into a frenzy like the raising of the 12th man flag in Seattle. It gets the crowd pumped up, the...
The Seattle Seahawks have cut veteran wide receiver Mike Williams.
Williams finished last season on injured reserve with a fractured left fibula that required surgery.
