RENTON -- Cornerback Marcus Trufant has been placed on injured reserve because of a back injury that kept him out of the Oct. 9 game at New York.A starting cornerback, Trufant suffered what coach Pete Carroll said was a bruised sacrum in Seattle's home game against Atlanta on Oct. 2. The injury didn't manifest itself until after practice the Wednesday following the game. Trufant did not practice Thursday or Friday and while he traveled to New York, he was not able to play in the game. Carroll said that Trufant couldn't bend over to tie his shoes.Putting a player on injured reserve ends his season. Trufant, 30, is the longest-tenured member of the team, and one of only two players on the team who appeared in Super Bowl XL for the Seahawks. Linebacker Leroy Hill is the other.Trufant missed the first six games of 2009 because of a disk injury though Carroll stated that this is a much different type of back injury.Seattle signed defensive tackle Josh Shirley -- a 2008 draft ...
