Pro Football Zone:
Buffalo Bills pass rusher Mario Williams has had a bad offseason. From trying to recover an engagement ring worth more than half a million dollars to poking fun at the Aaron Hernandez situation, Williams was just looking forward to the season. Via ProFootballTalk, Williams might be the center of an investigation of a police academy he graduated from in May of this year. The focus of the investigation is to find out if the police academy has been cutting corners in handing out its’ certificates. According to PFT, a complaint has been filed that an “unnamed cadet” had been progressing too quickly through the course which requires 660 hours of training. KTRK in Houston has a report that says Williams is that unnamed cadet. If Williams manages to keep his certificate it means he could be a police officer anywhere in Texas. Need NFL Tickets? Stop me if you've heard this one before: Jock gets credit for classwork he didn't actually do, is ceremonially moved through the system to become someone else's problem.
We're all familiar with that story, but it just usually doesn't involve police academies.
In Mario Williams' case, it does, according to KTRK-13 News in Houston. You may remember that Williams...
Most NFL players christen their contracts by going out and buying fancy, luxurious cars.
Buffalo Bills rookie Da’Rick Rogers didn’t follow suit.
In fact, Rogers still doesn’t own a car at all.

With NFL training camp under way, it’s time to look at the positives of the upcoming Buffalo Bills season. The negatives have been much easier to cover for the last decade or so, and I don’t plan to dwell on those. You know them well enough. This team lacks the top end talent found all over the AFC, and a wise better wouldn’t wager on the team getting more than five or six...

The Buffalo Bills announced today that defensive end Mario Williams participated in defensive line drills.
This is great news since Williams has been sitting out with a foot injury. After getting a second opinion on his foot, he was told to rest it and he should be fine.
“We want to make sure that we’re being smart,” said Bills head coach Doug Marrone...

The Buffalo Bills have signed rookie free agent defensive back Don Unamba.
The signing was announced Wednesday, after the Bills completed their fourth day of training camp in suburban Rochester.
Listed at 6-foot-1 and 192 pounds, Unamba initially signed with St. Louis following the NFL draft before being cut by the Rams in June. He played college at Southern Arkansas, where he...
Buffalo Bills quarterback Kevin Kolb has been escorted into the locker room after he slipped on a rubber mat and hurt his left knee during practice.
Kolb, who is competing with first-round draft pick E.J. Manuel for the Bills' starting job, was switching fields with his offensive teammates. As he ran, Kolb slipped on a wet rubber mat and stumbled awkwardly at the Bills training...

BY NICK ST. DENISJairus Byrd's job as one of the Buffalo Bills' starting safeties is safe -- if he ever decides to show up. But while Byrd is absent from training camp due to a contract dispute, other Bills defensive backs are taking advantage. There is a positional competition going on for the second starting safety spot, and with Byrd away, the players trying to earn that...
Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stevie Johnson suffered a hamstring strain on Friday, and could miss the majority of the preseason according to Pro Football Talk.
Per a league source, Johnson has definitely strained the muscle, and his specific timetable for a return currently is unclear. The assumption is that he’ll miss most of the preseason.
His absence will definitely stall his...
Johnathan Snyder of Queen City Sports has learned from sources close to Terrence McGee that the former Bills defensive back is expected to sign a one-year league minimum deal with the division rival, New England Patriots.
McGee played a total of just 22 games over the past three seasons with the Bills. During his career in Buffalo, he recorded 440 total tackles, 17 interceptions...

Mario’s foot is hurt. We’ve heard enough about it, and I don’t really want to get into it (but you can read about it here and here. I do, however, want to put his sack totals last season into context so we can stop arguing about whether 10.5 sacks is enough for $100 million.
I’ve already looked into the sack totals Williams should get if he’s healthy for a whole season...
